A Week of Ice (and more)
Hi,
A week with ice and snow which is about to end, and there were two more things that ended for me (good thing it’s less tragic than the previous sentence suggests):
The first intense theory week of the Aan de Slag voor de Klas program. I focused on a wide range of topics related to pedagogy and didactics. A sea of knowledge to drown in if you’re not careful. I hope to be able to use this new information in front of a physical classroom soon. For now, it will mainly be in front of my computer screen as digital teaching continues.
The five-part course I taught for three assistant athletics trainers at my club has come to an end. Three enthusiastic trainers are now ready to use their new skills to coach the athletes of the future. I learned five lessons while teaching and wrote about them.

Do you remember those PowerPoint presentations full of text, with incomprehensible figures and boring bullet points? I bet you do. And even worse, those things are probably all you remember, instead of the main point that the presenter tried to make.
Conclusion: many of us use PowerPoint wrong. Here’s how to use it right:
To top it off, here’s one more video. It’s about mindset, and how it can be fixed or open to growth. I’ve seen and read about this topic in different situations, but I have never seen a kid talk about it before. Now I have.
That’s it for this week. Thanks for reading!
